If I Must Talk About Myself...

My name's Amanda Hardy.  I consider myself a collector of nicknames.  People call me things as similar to my name as Manda and as far from it as Armando.  Do not even think the word Mandy.  Every time someone calls me Mandy a tree falls in the forest, and we don't want to risk the utter destruction of our ecosystem.  Out of consideration to the squirrels out there, just call me Manda.

I'm currently a student at Baylor University, with a major that has nothing to do with my hobby of reading.  When I'm not in class, you can be assured I'm somewhere in the vicinity of a library.  I love reading (if you couldn't tell from the name of this blog).

I refuse to answer the question about my favorite genre in fear that the others will rise up and eat me in my sleep, but I can say this: I do have a favorite book.  The title of it is The Goose Girl, by Shannon Hale.  It's been my favorite book since I was much younger than I am now.

I also love writing, both poetry and prose.  I write stories in the time I'm not reading, which shows that I'm clearly much too preoccupied with the written word.

To drag you away from that, I'll add in here that I'm an incredibly loud football fan and my favorite TV show is Grimm on NBC.  My favorite food, if you're in the habit of collecting these things, is most definitely brisket, slathered in BBQ.  I respect vegans immensely, but I couldn't do it.

Overall, I'm clearly a lover of sarcasm, but my true humor love is the pun.  I love me some puns.  They'll leave me rolling on my floor, snorting with laughter, any day of the week.  Clearly, my palette for humor is simply too refined for those with common taste.  They just don't get me.

Anyway, that's it.  I'm sure there's more, but I'm pretty bad at talking about myself.
